I am Mousedeer and I am part of a group known as ‘The Mousedeer Group’. This group serves as a platform for children to communicate and express their views in a safe and comfortable environment.
In 1989, the leaders of the world decided that children needed a special convention designed solely for them because people under 18 years old often need special care and protection that adults do not. The leaders also wanted to make sure that the world recognized that children are also entitled to human rights .
In 1995, Malaysia ratified the UNCRC – United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child. Which the first legally binding international instrument to incorporate the full range of human rights—civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights.
Next year, Children in Malaysia are to write a report to the Committee on the Rights of the Child, in Geneva, Switzerland! This is the first time for Malaysian children to do so and in order to achieve this, we would need to gather as many children as we can to be involved!
So join us now and lets make it happen!
